Hey👀  I'm Hao Chen.

I am a Founding Software Engineer at Subtle Computing - a startup building voice-centered solutions on earbuds!  My expertise is in building and managing audio data systems. I got my bachelor's degree from Cornell Information Science in 2024.

As a developer, I have built applications in realms including hierarchical visualization and healthcare simulation. I also contributed to the VR/AR community by crafting Unity packages. At school, I actively engaged in game development and served as a teaching assistant for Advanced Game Design and Architecture.

As a researcher, I explore machine learning models on wearable sensing devices. My co-authored work contributed to advancements in silent speech recognition for headphones, yielding publications in UbiComp-ISWC.

As a videographer, I have produced animation for games, demo films for research projects, and mini-documentaries for several startups.

​

I have wide interests in cinematics, debate, music and choreography. Outside of school, I used to be a child actor/dancer at China Welfare Institute; and now turned this passion into making YouTube videos. In my free time, I also trade stocks.
